Forged steel wheel casters are the premium of all the steel wheel casters. The forged steel wheel is made from ASTM 1045 high carbon steel that is hot drop forged. It offers the maximum weight capacity, impact strength, and durability of all caster wheels. For a metal wheel with similar capacities and durability, but is more economical, check out our ductile steel wheel casters.
While forged steel is incredibly resilient, it is the harshest wheel type for floors and could lead to floor damage. For heavy duty floor protective wheels, be sure to check out our polyurethane wheels.
*Please note temperature ratings are dependent upon the bearing selected. Unless noted otherwise in the options, bearings with have a 180°F temperature rating.
*Casters ordered with the extra heavy duty tapered bearings, weld on swivel lock, or toe guards will have a 3-6 business day lead time to ship. All other options usually ship in 24-48 hours.

Caster Options:
Bearings: For a description and picture of each bearing type -
Face Contact Brake: Designed for heavy duty casters, this brake can be activated be either foot or hand. The brake pad presses on the face of the wheel to prevent the wheel from spinning.
Weld Plate / Shim: This heavy duty caster can be ordered with an additional weld plate. This allows you to weld the additional plate to the equipment and then bolt the caster on. If you ever need to remove or replace the caster it is much easier than cutting off the old caster and then welding the new caster back on. The plate can also be used to add additional height to the caster. The plate is .350" thick and is zinc plated. The dimensions match the picture of the drawing and can also be found in the specifications section.
4-Position Swivel Lock: This allows you to turn a swivel caster into a rigid caster. When the pin is released into one of the 4 slots located 90 degrees apart, it locks the swivel section in place. Both a welded on option and a field installable bolt on option are available.
Toe Guard: This option is designed to help prevent toes and other objects from being rolled over by the heavy duty caster.
